Join us for an online series of live conversations as museum expert David van der Leer, Principal of DVDL DD, speaks with museum professionals from around the US and beyond.
In this week’s installment, Van der Leer will be joined in conversation by Prof. Dr. Margriet Schavemaker, Artistic Director of the Amsterdam Museum and Professor of Media and Art in Museum Practice at the University of Amsterdam. In the monumental Amsterdam Museum building visitors can discover the story of Amsterdam through a large number of masterpieces, such as an aerial map from the Middle Ages and Breitner’s The Dam. Visitors can see, read about, hear and experience how the city has developed.

Do 20 nov Margriet Schavemaker, directeur van Kunstmuseum Den Haag, gaat in het Amsterdamse Stedelijk Museum naar de tentoonstelling van de iconische Nederlandse fotograaf Erwin Olaf. In een breed overzicht is niet alleen zijn vroege, activistische werk te zien waarin hij voorop liep in de strijd voor acceptatie van de lhbtiq+-community. Maar ook zijn latere beroemde geënsceneerde foto's, beelden en het allerlaatste videowerk dat hij vlak voor zijn dood in 2023 maakte, tonen zijn engagement naar persoonlijke vrijheid. https://npo.nl/start/afspelen/nu-te-zien_140

Directeur van het Kunstmuseum in Den Haag Margriet Schavemaker bekijkt in het Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht haar installaties, schilderijen, sculpturen en werken van textiel.
